June 29, 2020 | In: Asian Handicap

As you already know if you are interested in sports betting, there are many possibilities for betting and winning money. To vary the pleasures and play on bigger odds, it is interesting to master any type of bet. The Asian handicap stands out and is considered by many professionals as an opportunity not to be missed.

Our Asian handicap explanation

Like the classic handicap bet, the Asian handicap allows you to add or remove one or more goals to one of the teams to rebalance a match. Virtually, a team can virtually lead to the score before the start of the match. While it is sometimes not profitable to bet on a simple victory for a team as it is favorite and at a low odds, the Asian handicap bet will allow you to bet anyway on this match.

The latter offers more options than the normal handicap bet since you can in some cases be reimbursed for your bet in part or even in full. It is available on many sports, such as football, basketball, rugby, ice hockey, or even American football.

We hope that our Asian handicap explanation has convinced you. We will now approach a more technical part, with examples.

The different Asian Handicap

Asian Handicap is a type of bet often overlooked by amateur bettors because the concept may seem quite complex to understand. However, it is extremely simple, with the right explanations, to fully master this method of betting. Here are the different types of Asian Handicaps.

Asian handicap: handicap 0

This 0 handicap is in a way a snub to the basic principle of the Asian handicap. Here, you just have to understand that in the event of a draw, the bettors will recover their bets. In some cases, this type of bet is also called “Draw No Bet or DNB”.

Example: you bet € 10 on FC Barcelona H0 against Real Madrid.

If Barcelona wins the match, you win your bet.

If Real Madrid wins the match, you lose your bet.

In the event of a draw, you get your bet of 10 €.

Asian handicap: full Asian handicap +1, +2, -1, -2

With this Asian handicap, we add or remove goals from a team on the final result. When you add the handicap with the final result and you get a draw, your bet is then refunded.

Example: you bet € 10 on FC Barcelona H-1 against Real Madrid.

If Barcelona wins by 2 or more goals, you win your bet.

If Barcelona wins by 1 goal difference, your bet is refunded.

If Barcelona draws or loses the match, you lose your bet.

Asian handicap +0.5, +1.5, -0.5, -1.5

With this type of Asian handicap, there can, therefore, be no equality and therefore no reimbursement. Either your bet is winning, or it will be losing.

Example: you bet € 10 on FC Barcelona H-1.5 against Real Madrid

If Barcelona wins by 2 or more goals, you win your bet.

If Barcelona wins by 1 goal, draws or loses the match, you lose your bet.

Asian handicap +0.25, +0.75, -0.25, -0.75

Shared Asian handicap is perhaps the most difficult for beginners to understand. Here, your bet is split into 2 separate bets.

Example: you bet € 10 on FC Barcelona H-0.75. This means that € 5 will be placed on Barcelona H-0.5 and € 5 will be placed on Barcelona H-1.0.

If Barcelona wins by 2 or more goals, you win your bet entirely.

If Barcelona wins by 1 goal difference, you win half of your bet (H-0.5) and are reimbursed the other half (H-1.0).

If Barcelona draws or loses the match, you lose your entire bet.
