In the early days as a bettor, we are overwhelmed by a multitude of options available, including betting with Asian handicap, which is another form of betting that gives a slight advantage to the less powerful team to equal the possible result and offer better odds that make it interesting for the bettor to enter this event.
We show you the different types of Asian handicap that you can find in your favorite bookmaker and we teach you how to bet with Asian handicap correctly.
Bet with Asian handicap
The Asian handicap is a betting formula, in which an advantage is offered to the weaker team or a disadvantage to the strongest team, in such a way that the event is more even, adjusting the betting odds and making it more attractive for the bettor, odds will be expressed by their abbreviation AH followed by a + or – and a numerical marker, as a rule in the form of decimals, with which we can find Asian handicaps such as: AH +0.5, HA -1.5, HA -2 etc.
The Asian handicap as a rule reduces the typical possibilities in a victory-draw-defeat event to only two, victory and defeat, since decimals prevent a draw, in case decimals are not used and are integer values (as AH -1 ) in case of winning by the same value, ie winning 2-1, the total would be 2-1 minus 1 to the winner = 1-1, it would be a draw, the bet would be considered void and the amount would be returned to the bettor.
To bet with Asian handicap correctly we must know the different types of Asian handicap that exist, which are:
Positive Asian handicap
The positive Asian handicap, is the handicap that is added to the score to the weakest team, to start with an advantage in the score and try to match the event and that the odds of bets rise and are more attractive for the bettor.
Negative Asian handicap
The negative Asian handicap, is the handicap that is subtracted to the marker to the strongest team, to start with a disadvantage in the score and try to match the event and that the odds of bets rise and are more attractive for the bettor.
Asian handicap in fractions
The previous handicaps that we used to find, were either whole (AH +1, AH -2) or by halves (AH +0.5, AH – 1.5) but to bet with Asian handicaps correctly we must know the handicaps in fractions, which are somewhat more complicated than the previous ones.
The Asian handicap in fractions we usually find in fractions of 1/4 and can be combined in different ways and be positive or negative, as AH -0.25 or AH +1.75 these have the following characteristics.
The amount of your bet is automatically divided into 2 equal bets, which will each go to the two closest quarter options that have these bets.
Each bet will go to the two closest intervals of your bet, so 0.25 goes to AH 0 and AH 0.5 and 0.75 goes to AH 0.5 and AH 1, which can be positive or negative.
