Live bets on Asian handicap

November 6, 2018 | In: Asian Handicap

Some online bookmakers offer bets on Asian handicaps even live while the game is in progress. As a rule, such bets do not take into account the score shown on the table when placing the bet. The bet is only offered for the remainder of the match, regardless of what has happened before, and the fictitious starting score is 0-0 (plus of course the handicap we are betting).

To understand better, I will give you an example. Suppose team A leads team B with a 2-0 draw at break. If you bet live on “Team A -0.5” means that starting from that point, Team A is required to score more with a goal than its opponent. So for the bet to win, the final score must be 3: 0, 4: 0, 4: 1, 5: 1 etc.

A final score of type 2: 0, 3: 1, 2: 1 etc will result in the loss of the bet. Many beginner bettors do not know this and at first sight they have the impression that they have given a bug that they can take advantage of. They believe that if the score is 2: 0 and you bet on a handicap of -0.5, then the bet will be the winner if the team you wagered requires at least one goal difference, which is not true in this situation!
