Real Madrid to face Real Zaragoza without Cristiano Ronaldo & Xabi Alonso

Real Madrid tactician Jose Mourinho has opted to leave star player Cristiano Ronaldo out of his match squad for this weekend’s La Liga clash at home to relegation-threatened Real Zaragoza.

Ronaldo participated for the full 90 minutes in Wednesday’s Champions league semi-final first-leg against Barcelona and Mourinho wants to rest the tricky attacker ahead of the second-leg on Tuesday.

Mourinho has also decided to rest holding midfielder Xabi Alonso for the match against Zaragoza, while players such as Lassana Diarra, Raul Albiol and Pedro Leon have all been left out as well for Saturday’s game.

Meanwhile, Sergio Ramos, Alvaro Arbeloa, Angel Di Maria and Emmanuel Adebayor have all returned to the match squad after missing last week’s 6-3 La Liga win over Valencia.

Full squad list:

Goalkeepers: Casillas, Dudek, Adan
Defenders: Carvalho, Pepe, Sergio Ramos, Marcelo, Arbeloa, Garay, Nacho
Midfielders: Granero, Kaka, Canales, Di Maria, Ozil, Juanfran
Forwards: Adebayor, Higuain, Benzema
