Bayer Leverkusen agree terms with Freiburg over Oemer Toprak transfer

Freiburg sporting director Dirk Dufner has confirmed that his club will sell centre-half Oemer Toprak to Bayer Leverkusen.
“We have reached an agreement with Bayer Leverkusen,” Dufner told Badische Zeitung.
Whether Toprak will move this summer or in 2012 remains unknown, although the player is in control of his future.
“It is our philosophy that, without financial compensation, a player that we have developed will not leave for another club,” Dufner added.
Toprak’s current contract is set to expire in the summer of 2012, meaning that if Freiburg are to sell him, it would have to be this summer. However, if he is convinced to sign a contract extension, he will leave the following year.
A transfer fee has not yet been revealed, but the value of Toprak is estimated to be in the region of €4 million. Since making his professional debut in 2007, the 21-year old has made 46 appearances for Freiburg, scoring four goals.
